Well, after three weeks of prepping and testing I’m excited to announce Stampin Corner is open. A big thanks to everyone who’s provided feedback so far (keep it coming), I feel like we’ve got a solid basis which to continue tailoring this service to stamping bloggers. Some of the changes since our last update are:
For everyone:
SC Navbar: Similar to the Blogger and WordPress navbar, this is atop all the blogs and provides shortcuts for users and readers.
Updated themes: I’ve actually removed several themes but currently the ads have been integrated with the themes, so they aren’t quite as obtrusive as before and only 1 shows on all pages at the top under the new SC Navbar.
Plugins:
Google Analytics: For all you stat junkies all our blogs can be tracked via Google Analytics (Free from Google).
Akismet: Kill all that comment spam.
Dagon Form Mailer: This is the contact form we use on the main SC site. It’s one of the easiest to use and implement and is very flexible.
Easy Privacy Policy: A cool plugin that generates a privacy page (that’s editable).
Full Text Feed: Allows your rss feed to generate full posts vs. just excerpts.
Lots of Widgets to gussy up your blogs plus a Google Gadgets widget that allows you to add Google Gadgets to your blog.
For Supporters we’ve got some really cool features.
Premium Themes: There’s specially design CMS style themes that are highly customizable.
Blogger Premium Theme: Blogger for WordPress. The only theme out there that will let you easily use your current Blogger theme with our WordPress service.
Custom CSS Editor – Don’t like the default theme colors. You can change them.
Custom Header – Allows you to upload a header design of your choice, without worrying about it being autocropped.
Domain Mapping: Do you have your own domain name you want to point at your blog? It’s really simple an easy to do.
Tons of Plugins:
Analytics 360 – Integrates your Google Analytics right into your dashboard.
Auto Tags – Use a Yahoo API to automatically generate tags for your posts.
Feedburner Feedsmith – Automatically detects all the ways your RSS feed can be accessed and routes them to your Feedburner feed.
Feedburner Stats: Your Feedburner reader count in your dashboard.
LinkWithin: Popular among stamping bloggers, adds the LinkWithin plugin to your posts. All you need is your site id.
Recently Popular: Tracks your popular posts and provides a widget to display them.
SexyBookmarks: Another popular plugin is this sexy social bookmarking plugin.
Smooth Slider: Adds a content and image slideshow to your blog.
Twitter for WordPress – Displays your Twitter messages on your blog
Some of the future plans we’re looking at adding include an all new custom theme that’s completely customizable via a control panel. The goal is to be able to replicate a Typepad, WordPress or Blogger custom theme without having to upload the theme or understand how to code.
Stamping specific plugins. Since we’re Stampin’ Up! demonstrators that’s where we will focus our attention. The goal is to make it easy to add things like catalogs, specials, etc to your blog without having to go hunt images, upload them, etc.
So that’s it for now. Have a great time blogging and stamping. Please tell your friends about the service and have a great Christmas!!!!!
